Previous Director of HSVA came to visit CSSRC
From April 2 to April 23, Mr. Jüergen Friesch, previous director of HSVA, paid a three weeks’ working visit to CSSRC as our senior consultant. Mr. Friesch has been a member of ITTC Advisory Council for a long time. Besides, his long-standing researches on propeller cavitation tests enrich himself in the experience of model tests and full scale trials. He has dedicated himself in a great amount of fundamental research works in HYKAT design and development, and has particular insights in the design, development and application of large scale cavitation tunnel.
Through academic forums and discussions, Mr. Friesch shared his experiences on technical issues regarding to the topic of ultra-large-scale cavitation channel’s design, propeller cavitations’ experimental techniques, 14,000 TEU container-ship’s propeller cavitation experiment and civil ship’s propeller noise testing technology during the three weeks’ time. CSSRC’s researchers learned a lot in the cavitation experimental analysis techniques from Mr. Friesch’s “teach, help and guide”. On April 11, Mr. Friesch gave an open lecture on propeller corrosion in Meeting Room 5, which attracted large amount of researchers and students. Attendees conducted heated discussions on the topic.
On April 18, director of CSSRC Mr. He Chunrong met with Mr. Friesch officially. They retrospect on the past 30 years’ cooperation between CRRSC and HSVA, and both hoped to continue the existing cooperation and friendship. Mr. He pointed out that, with CSSRC’s continuous development and growth, we saw an increasing need of developing up-to-date experimental techniques, laboratories and facilities. We were longing for continuous support from HSVA. Mr. Friesch expressed his thanks to Mr. He for his warm welcome, and stated that they would like to give us as many supports as they could.
