The portable underwater glider self-developed by CSSRC has passed various functional verification tests in open basin from 19^th July to 29^th July. The success of this trial has established a good technical basis for the later tests on the lake.

The portable underwater glider is equipped with characteristics of small size and light weight, greater degrees of freedom of navigation, flexible maneuverability, can carry out a wide range of marine environment detection, hydrologic survey and fishery monitoring work, having a broad application prospect in multiple fields in the future.
