The second meeting of 27^th ITTC Specialist Committee on Hydrodynamic Noise was held from Nov. 6 to Nov. 8, 2012 at CSSRC. Six members of the committee from the Italian Ship Model Basin (INSEAN), Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN), Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA), HYUNDAI Heavy Industries Co., MITSUBISHI Heavy Industries Co. and China Ship Scientific Research Center (CSSRC) participated the meeting. The work for the recommendations of the 26^th ITTC about “the characteristics of hydrodynamic noise sources and its influence to marine environment”, “existing national and international regulations regarding hydrodynamic noise”, “scale effects in prediction of hydrodynamic noises”, and “develop relevant guidelines for both model and full scale noise measurements” were well reported and discussed. During the period, the members of the committee visited some test facilities of CSSRC, including Towing Tank, Rotating-arm Basin, Sea-keeping Basin and Large Cavitation Channel etc.
