Technical Collaborative Seminar between CSSRC and MARINTEK Successfully Held at CSSRC

A technical cooperative seminar was successfully held between CSSRC and MARINTEK(http://www.marintek.com) at CSSRC on April 11-12, 2013.  Prof. Yan Kai, vice director of CSSRC, extended a warm welcome to the guests from MARINTEK and made a brief introduction of CSSRC. Heated discussions and technical exchanges on related topics were made at the symposium.  Present at the symposium are Dr. Koushan, director of Ship Technical Dept. and Dr. Krasilnikov from MARINTEK,Dr. Tang Denghai, vice chief engineer, and many other research engineers from CSSRC.. During the symposium, Prof. Weng, director of CSSRC, had a brief meeting with the Norwegian guests.
At this seminar, which was oriented towards the issues of common interest, special reports had been presented on application of CFD, propeller performance in waves, numerical self-propulsion tests, PIV flow field measurement, greenship technology, wave slamming load and hydro-elastic application, enriching the knowledge of related CSSRC researchers and broadening their view. Having been shown around the CSSRC facilities and displayed research achievements, the Norwegian guests expressed their intention for deepening mutual cooperation in the future.  The two parties have reached an agreement on the content of collaborative researches in the next few years and decided to hold a bilateral cooperative symposium every year. A memorandum of understanding was signed after the symposium.
A research project jointly applied for to the Norwegian government by MARINTEK and CSSRC in 2102 has been approved, part of which shall be undertaken by CSSRC from 2013 to 2016. This joint project will enable CSSRC to get access to the information of many project participants. Discussions on the detailed work arrangements of the joint project have been conducted.

This seminar marks the entrance of a new era of the cooperation between CSSRC and MARINTEK.
