The wave load test of trimaran model has been successfully completed in CSSRC, the results of which have important reference significance to the design and the performance research of trimarans, providing a strong support to the future formation of trimaran standards.

Unlike the regular trial, the structure of a trimaran is quite complicated and the displacement is rather low, so the standard of ship model weight is really strict. This test is mainly to measure the wave load of hull girder and cross-structures under self-propulsion, including the bending moment, torque, shearing force and slamming pressure of cross-structures. A total of 56 operating condition tests have been performed, far beyond the operation condition numbers of traditional model tests.  In addition, the wave depth and the speed of the ship model have both reached the ultimate capability of laboratory facility.

So far there is little information about wave load test of triamran in China, the success of this test has a very high reference value for future research of trimaran, having a good supporting effect to the later standards formation of trimaran.
