CSSRC has achieved the zero breakthrough of Domestic Propeller Cavitation Observation on Full Scale ship

CSSRC has recently successfully accomplished the propeller cavitation observation test on 3600TEU container ship in the Atlantic Ocean with the great support of DW-ShipConsult GmbH and Leonhardt & Blumberg GmbH.

This test has been last for over 20 days, and the test meteorological condition during the voyage is quite suitable because of the clear weather and good water quality. After initial debugging and following multiple observation tests, the propeller cavitation observation test video and fluctuating pressure data under specified operating conditions have been obtained, providing valuable test data for correlation analysis between cavitation and cavitation fluctuating pressure.

The success of this test has achieved the zero breakthrough of domestic propeller cavitation observation on full scale ship, providing a feasible method on cavitation research and cavitation practical problem solving. In addition, a new field of full scale test has been developed, building a good foundation for further improvement of the cavitation model test level and design level.
