The 27^th ITTC was held in Copenhagen, Denmark on 1^st to 5^th September 2014, and it was the most powerful academic conference in the field of hydrodynamics. This conference reviewed and summarized the latest research achievements of the present international hydrodynamics, and the new development trend was prospected. There were 26 delegates from China attended ITTC, it was the second largest delegation in this conference. Director Weng Zhenping was appointed the Chairman of Executive Committee of 28^th ITTC, the first Chinese Chairman of EC in the history of ITTC. And the next ITTC (28^th) was decided to hold in Wuxi, China.

China Delegation had achieved multiple first in this 27th ITTC, the first Chinese Chairman of EC of 28th ITTC; the first two Chinese experts were appointed as member of Executive Committee; the first Chinese experts was appointed as Chairman of Technical Committee and 12 Chinese experts were appointed as members in 12 Technical Committees, all of these fully proved China had played an increasingly important role in ITTC.

Director Weng, the newly appointed Chairman of EC said, the ability and international influence of China Shipbuilding industry was growing and improving gradually, and Chinese experts of hydrodynamics continued to contribute to the development of ITTC, all of these had received the recognition and praise from the international peer. Based on these inspiration and encouragement, Chinese experts would make greater contribution for the development of next ITTC and related academic field.
