On July 24, Dr. RYUJI MIYAKE, head of EEDI department in Japan Classification Society, came to visit CSSRC with the other two staff with regards to the topic of EEDI validation and ISO 15016:2015. Zhou Weixin, vice director of CSSRC, welcomed our guests and intercommunicated with them along with core technologists from Shanghai Branch.

Mr.Zhou emphasized the significance of full scale test in EEDI validation, and introduced that CSSRC possesses full scale test capacities, qualifications and relative program experiences. NAOYA HARA, engineer of Japan Classification Society, introduced EEDI validation process and up-to-date validation guidelines. Dr. RYUJI MIYAKE introduced the major differences between ISO15016:2015 and ISO15016:2002, and demonstrated speed modification software and minimum propulsion power evaluation software which were developed based on ISO15016:2015.

Both sides conducted in-depth discussions regarding EEDI validation process and ISO15016:2015 contents, as well as minimum propulsion power evaluation method. They also discussed the possible further cooperation issues based on respective technology demands. This communication lays good foundations for CSSRC to apply for the user licenses of Japan Classification Society’s softwares and third-party detection agency’s authentication in the near future.
