Authorized by MARIN, CSSRC full scale test team conducted full scale test on a 64,000 TEU bulk carrier, which is owned by a Greek shipowner, in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province from Aug.27 to Aug. 29. CSSRC provided test facilities and staff, and cooperated with MARIN staff to deal with test results. This was the first time CSSRC cooperating with MARIN on commercial program.

This full scale test program was CSSRC’s one of the cooperation programs with MARIN. The series cooperation contracts of both sides were signed in May 2015. The test ship was constructed by COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard. Providing test facilities, our engineers in Shanghai Branch formed a test team with MARIN engineers. They tested the important parameters such as torque, rotation and velocity, and completed all the data measurements within three days. Not only reliable data was obtained, but also data modification results of both sides agreed well. By cooperating with MARIN, which has rich experiences in full scale test, our engineers learned a lot and gained valuable experiences.

The smooth concluding of this program embarks the further advancement of our cooperation with MARIN. Taking this opportunity, both sides are expected to cooperate more on full scale test of commercial programs and industrial programs.
