Recently, CSSRC’s energy saving device, whose proprietary intellectual property rights is owned by our Shanghai Branch, was again validated experimentally by the world-renowned research institute MARIN. By mounting a pre-rotating wheel provided by us, a VLCC raised its energy saving by 5%. CSSRC’s energy saving device had been validated through multiple experiments in world-renowned research institutes and proved good energy saving effects.
Shanghai Branch finished the program design and development in a relatively short period for mounting this pre-rotating wheel to the VLCC. Requested by our clients, our side went to MARIN for energy saving device’s experimental validation. The experiment results showed that, after mounting our pre-rotating wheel, this VLCC could raise its energy saving by 5% in designed draught and structural draught conditions, and 6% in ballast draught conditions, which reached our anticipation. This experiment proves again CSSRC’s capability in the R & D of VLCC’s energy saving device.
