From October 3 to 5, the 30^th American Towing Tank Conference (ATTC) was held in Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) in Maryland, US, CSSRC’s representative, vice-chief engineer Dr. Feng Zhao attended the conference. It was the first time for Chinese representative to participate in this conference theme exchange.

Based on the CSSRC’s significant innovative technologies in numerical tank in recent years, Dr. Feng Zhao submitted a paper called “An innovative methodology of confidence level assessment for virtual test of ship Hydrodynamics”. It introduced the CSSRC’s creative interpretation of connotation of numerical tanks, and proposed three levels of confidence assessment methods to exiting CFD’s verification and confirmation difficulty, and also demonstrated the application of this new methods through instance.

CSSRC’s Innovative research in numerical tank received many attention and resonance through the 30^th ATTC.
