With the growth of the international shipping logistics market, the 20,000TEU container ships have gradually become the star ship of maritime transport. In order to further enhance academic exchanges at home and abroad, and to promote scientific and technological innovation and personnel training, the China Ship Scientific Research Center successfully held the Joint Industry Project (JIP) launch meeting on August 30.
The Comparative Study on Springing Responses of 20000 TEU Containership ", hereinafter referred to as CSSRC - 20000 TEU, the project is proposed to carry out the Benchmark hydroelastic model test and computational comparisons for 20000 TEU class containerships in the current shipping market, aiming to establish a reliable and accurate standard ship model test database, validate numerical calculation methods and software, and form the hydroelastic analysis standards and guidelines for predicting wave-induced springing and slam-induced whipping. Lloyd's Register of Shipping, BV, University of Southampton, MARIN, ClassNK, IRClass, Chalmers University of Technology, CCS, SWS, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Harbin Engineering University, Dalian University of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University of Technology and more than a total of 36 delegates attended the launch meeting .
CSSRC-20,000 TEU is the first joint international industrial project involving standard ship models initiated by CSSRC and also China Shipping and Marine industry. It will certainly help to improve the independent research and development capability of China's shipping industry and to promote the close cooperation in the international shipping industry.
