On September 20, the 13^th International Conference on the Stability and Safety of Ships and Ocean Vehicles was held in Japan, the standing committee of the STAB listened to the earnest and detailed representations made by the China Ship Scientific Research Center, reviewed the application, and finally made a decision after discussion, and was solemnly announced by professor Kostas Spyrou, the chairman of the STAB, that the 15^th International Conference on the Stability and Safety of Ships and Ocean Vehicles was expected to be held in September 2024 in Wuxi, China. This will be the first highest level of International Conference on the Stability and Safety of Ships be held in China.

This International Conference on the Stability and Safety of Ships and Ocean Vehicles involves the research work on the theory, design, test, calculation as well as the formulation and application of international rules and other international hot spots. So far, China has submitted more than 45 ship stability proposals to the International Maritime Organization and has published a large number of high-level papers. The successful bid for the conference will further promote the deepening research on the stability and safety of ships in China, and effectively promote China to participate more actively in international exchanges and cooperation.
