Recently, ISO22252:2020, the second international standard in the field of submersibles, which was developed under the auspices of the China Ship Scientific Research Center, was officially published.

The standard has been discussed in three working group meetings and revised for six versions, and passed three rounds of stage voting. The standard uniformly prescribes the technical requirements related to the supply of breathing gas and absorption of carbon dioxide in the manned capsule during the design of manned submersible, which can provide reference and basis for submersible designers around the world and reflect the research and development achievements and experience of CSSRC’s deep-sea equipment.

Since the establishment of the ISO Working Group on Submersibles in 2015, 20 experts from 8 countries have participated with the convening and promotion of CSSRC. The working group will continue to promote the work of relevant international standards for submersibles and create favorable conditions for China's deep-sea equipment to go global.
