On September 8, the first domestic SWATH pilot ship "An De" designed by China Ship Scientific Research Cetner (CSSRC) for Qingdao Maritime Pilots, was launched successfully at Afai Southern Shipyard Ltd.
The pilot ship has a total length of 27.0 meters, a width of 13.6 meters, a design draft of 2.7 meters, and a design speed of no less than 18.2 knots. It has the advantages of excellent seakeeping performance, high sailing rate in wind and waves, low radiation noise underwater, flexible operation, large working space, etc. The ship can operate safely in sea conditions with a wave height of 4 meters or level 9 wind, and can sail safely in sea conditions with level 11 wind. It is safe, stable, fast and flexible, and meets the requirements of frequently picking up and sending pilots and berthing/departing ships in the high sea conditions of Qingdao waters.
